Mike Gundy’s explanation of the Thursday night game is hilarious
Mike Gundy says it was an advantage to play CMU earlier but he didn’t really care either way.
OSU and Central Michigan are moving their season opener to September 3. Reasons for this move remain unclear, even after Mike Gundy talked about it on Wednesday.
Especially after Mike Gundy talked about it on Wednesday.
“Coach (Mike) Holder and I had several discussions about what day to play,” Gundy said. “When we looked at all the options, at some point, it really didn’t matter to me.”
Oh yeah? I doubt that.
“There is an advantage in maybe playing a couple days earlier and he wanted to play it on that Thursday night, for a variety of reasons. One, the market and coverage … I think it’s better for Central Michigan and Oklahoma State.”
Do what?
So…it didn’t matter which day you played but there was an advantage to playing “a couple days earlier”? All I hear in all of this is “the price was right!”
