Gundy’s long arm of recruiting found its way back to familiar territory yesterday. Just two days after landing Canadian recruit Amen Ogbongbemiga, the Cowboys offered Duncanville, Texas defensive tackle Marcel Southall – a former teammate of 2015 linebacker signee Za’Carrius Green.

Southall is a three-star prospect, with prominent offers including Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Alabama and many more. At 6’2, 280 pounds he is big enough to project at defensive tackle and quick enough to fit the mold of a defensive end – a position he is also familiar with at Duncanville.

Duncanville’s recruiting coordinator, Eric Mims, believes his speed and agility is what makes him an intriguing prospect. “The kid has great feet and is very athletic. The schools I’ve talked to think he has tons of potential,” Mims told Damon Sayles of Bleacher Report. “He just has the stuff you can’t coach. You want your guys to do things that he already does naturally.”

Although just a three-star prospect, Southall’s stock is still steadily rising. Geographically speaking, OSU is as appealing as many programs as Duncanville is just four hours from Stillwater. With 17 programs already on board with Southall, the Cowboys have a tough recruiting battle ahead.
