Travis Ford is proud of all his team accomplished
“I’m proud of this basketball team and what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve overcome.”
Oh, Travis Ford. I genuinely feel bad for him because of how much he cares about his team and the dudes who play on it. Some of these quotes, though….
“They’re all tough losses,” said Ford after Friday’s loss. “But I’m proud of this basketball team and what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve overcome.”
What, exactly, was it that they accomplished? Beating Kansas at home that one time? Is that the only thing? Sneaking into the NCAA tournament?
“Listen to all the negative noise through the year and be able to drown that out and really stick together. I thought they played well.”
Another question I have is who was pumping this negative noise? Me? Well, I was actually picking OSU to get to the tournament. Other beat writers? Please. Everyone has been kid gloves when it comes to Ford.
Fans? Who is it, Travis? Who’s been bringing the noise?
“It’s really difficult to explain the mental part of this game, what these kids have been through this year. Starting from everybody overlooking them. Starting with the negativity. From everybody talking about they’re not going to be any good…”
Give me a break.
“(These seniors)Â had a successful career at Oklahoma State. They all did. Not all seniors can say that. They had a successful career at Oklahoma State. I’m proud that they’re ready for the real world.”
“Their intent (against Oregon) was incredible.”
And with that Ford has unintentionally delivered Mike Holder with the dagger line he needed to break the news to Ford that he will not be coaching in Stillwater next season.
Your intent, Travis, it was definitely incredible.
