Class of 2019 QB Prospect Brendan Costello Commits to OSU
After months of consternation surrounding Oklahoma State’s hunt for its QB in the 2019 recruiting cycle, the Cowboy coaching staff has found its man in 6-1, 185-pound San Clemente (Calif.) dual-threat prospect Brendan Costello.
Costello announced his commitment to the Pokes on Wednesday over other opportunities to play at Air Force, Army, Eastern Washington, Brown and UC Davis. His pledge comes just over a week after OSU extended him an offer following an impressive camp showing in Stillwater.
“I just fell in love with the school on my visit,” Costello told 247Sports of his decision. “I really like Coach Yurcich a lot and the offense is a great fit for me. They tailor the offense to fit the quarterback and they had one of the most explosive passing offenses in the country last year.
“I actually called coach Yurcich last night to commit and then talked to Gundy this morning and they were both really fired up and excited to have me.”
Costello is OSU’s 11th commitment of the 2019 cycle rated by 247Sports as a three-star prospect, and the sixth-highest rated recruit of OSU’s current class.
