Oklahoma State is looking to play the rebound man for a newly broken up partnership between 2018 small forward Ed Chang and Washington.
After Chang announced he was decommitting from the Huskies on Thursday, Oklahoma State wasted no time by making a formal offer, which he announced on his Twitter page just hours after the separation.
Chang is a 6-foot-7 small forward who is a member of the 2018 class, meaning he’ll be a freshman next season.
Chang has a number of other enticing offers, including from in-state Nebraska, but OSU is a tantalizing offer too. I spoke with OSU commit Yor Anei on Thursday evening, who said that he and Chang are friends — a relationship that certainly couldn’t hurt OSU — but he admitted he’s not sure where Chang is leaning at the moment.
OSU still has five scholarships to fill for next season to replace the departures — both expected and unexpected — so Chang could be a valuable piece to OSU’s puzzle if he were to sign on, giving Boynton a young talent who can play a position OSU appears to be thin at moving forward.
