The 10 Best Stats from the Camping World Bowl

Published

on

Oklahoma State sent their seniors off in winning fashion with a 30-21 victory over Virginia Tech in the Camping World Bowl.

Here are some of the best and most interesting stats from Saturday’s game:

3: That’s the number of straight 10-win seasons Oklahoma State football has enjoyed. That’s the longest streak in school history. Only OSU, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, San Diego State, and Wisconsin can claim such a feat.

4,472: Speaking of records, James Washington’s 126 receiving yards brought his career total to 4,472 setting a new Oklahoma State record. That topped Rashaun Woods’ previous record of 4,414 yards set from 2000-2003.

54: OSU defenders Calvin Bundage (0.5), Jordan Brailford (0.5), DeQuinton Osbourne (0.5), Enoch Smith Jr. (1), and Tralund Webber (0.5) combined to record three tackles for loss bringing the season total to 54. That marks the most of the Gundy era, breaking the previous best mark of 52 set last season.

7: Oklahoma State went a perfect 7-0 on the road this season. Since at least 2002, that’s the most road and neutral site games OSU has won in a season.

77.2%: Dillon Stoner’s 44 receptions this season have come on just 57 targets. That’s a 77.2 percent catch rate. That reliability will come in hand for whoever is taking snaps behind center the next couple of seasons. He also boasted an impressive 10.1 yards per target.

32-10: OSU’s record since Mason Rudolph’s first start against Baylor in 2014.

1,467: With the bowl game, Justice Hill ends the season with 1,467 rushing yards, the most since Kendall Hunter rushed for 1,548 yards in 2010. If you add in Hill’s 190 receiving yards, his 1,657 total yards for the season are the most since Kendall Hunter had 1,753 back in 2008.

351: Rudolph tossed for 351 yards in the game, enough to help him set three more school records, including:

  • becoming the first player in school history to have more than 1,000 career passing yards in bowl games (1,143)
  • finishing with a school record 23 300-yard passing games
  • a record season total of 4,904 passing yards

45: James Washington ends his career on a nation-best 45 straight games with a catch.

65: The yards of Mason Rudolph’s final touchdown pass and James Washington’s final touchdown catch as Oklahoma State players. It’s just right that those two connected one final time. Thanks boys, and good luck on Sundays.
