2018 RB Jawhar Jordan Jr. Talks OSU Offer
Oklahoma State made a move for 2018 running back Jawhar Jordan Jr. this past week – his first major offer to date. The standout from Chandler, Arizona, has offers from Idaho, Kentucky Christian, Oklahoma State, and his latest yesterday comes from New Mexico State.
Listed at 5-10, 160-pounds, Jordan is a track star and an incredible talent on the gridiron. The freak from ‘Zona moved from New York to Arizona last year, and his recruitment is surely to pick up quickly with the highlight tape on him from last year.
I caught up with Jordan on Wednesday, who walked me through how OSU offered and what was going on.
“I was just so surprised when I heard [running backs coach] Coach Arroyo e-mailed my coach asking me to give him a call,” he told PFB. “At that moment, I was just shocked. I didn’t know what to think or didn’t know where the conversation was going to head.”
“He told me how I was a great player and told me how he loves how I run the ball, and he said the whole coaching staff agreed,” he continued. “We got to know each other a bit and then later that night he told me that they will offer me [a scholarship.]”
Furthermore, Jordan, being a 2018 prospect, means the coaching staff is making him an early priority. With good reason, too. Just like Clint Chelf, he has get away from the cops track speed. He can dodge, dive, dip, duck and dodge with great ease, and he hits the hole with purpose and is nearly impossible to drag down. He takes hits well and keeps his feet moving, many times requiring multiple defenders to drag him down to the ground. Check out his highlight from last season below:
