2021 Athlete Cam Smith Commits to Oklahoma State
OSU snags what looks to be a defender with great hands.
Make it three commits in two hours.
Cam Smith, out of Braswell High School in Denton, Texas, announced an Oklahoma State commitment Wednesday. It was a fairly quick turnaround for Smith and the Pokes, as he was just offered April 25.

Smith is listed on recruiting sites as an athlete, playing wide receiver and corner, but based off his offer tweet mentioning OSU cornerbacks coach Tim Duffie and safeties coach Dan Hammerschmidt, it looks as if Smith will be a defender when he gets to campus.
Smith’s 6-foot-1 frame gives him even more versatility defensively, as he can be a big-bodied corner or a ball-hawking safety. Although it looks as if Smith will be a DB, that doesn’t mean he has stones for hands. Smith caught 76 balls for 1,259 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior at Braswell in 2019.
He was a first-team all-district performer at receiver and corner this past season. Smith also made the first-team as a sophomore in 2018. Along with playing offense, defense and special teams on the football field, he is also a high school track star.
Smith isn’t the most highly touted prospect, right now, but he has had a steady stream of Power Five offers flowing in so far in 2020. His first Power Five offer came in mid-February with Northwestern. Then Vanderbilt got in at the end of March, and Kansas State and OSU came in in April before Utah offered in May.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Smith is the No. 1,037 player in the 2021 class and the No. 74 athlete.
