2023 Defensive Back RJ Lester Commits to Oklahoma State
Lester decommitted from K-State this week.

The Cowboys picked up somewhat of a surprise commitment Saturday from a defensive back prospect who was recently committed to another Big 12 squad.
RJ Lester, out of Fort Smith, Arkansas, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State. Lester was committed to Kansas State for about five months before decommitting earlier this week. Lester is a three-star prospect ranked as the No. 1,135 player in the 2023 Composite Rankings.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Lester played all over the defense at Northside High in Fort Smith. He lined up at corner and lined up in the box at times, rushing off the edge.
Kansas State was the first program to offer Lester back in May. After picking up offers from Tulane and Tulsa, Lester committed to K-State in late July before decommitting from the Wildcats on Monday. Being committed to K-State for the majority of his recruiting process, he hadn’t even announced OSU had offered until announcing his commitment Saturday.
He can play a corner or safety, but Lester mentioning OSU corners coach Tim Duffie in his commitment announcement likely means OSU sees him as a corner.
OSU has 13 players in its 2023 class with Lester’s addition, and a good chunk of those are defensive backs. Lester joins Kam Franklin, Dylan Smith and Lardarius Webb Jr. as DBs in OSU’s class, which now ranks 56th nationally and ninth in the Big 12.
