The 8 Stages Of Mike Gundy’s Mullet

Published

on

Mike Gundy called his mullet on Wednesday a “millennial mullet.” I have no idea what that means, but I thought it might be fun to see how this baby has progressed since it was first unveiled on Big 12 Media Days in July. Here’s a look at Stage 1 in Dallas before fall camp.

It is but a shadow of what it will become. A nice unveiling but little else. Also a fun surprise for those boring, sluggish media sessions.

Stage 2

This is the end of fall camp. He’s alive. I think the top got a trim. It’s starting to round into form. You can tell he’s really readying it for Big 12 play.

Stage 3

We’re really riding hard now as OSU preps for Puttsburgh. He looks full Sonic the Hedgehog for the last non-conference game.

Stage 4

It’s really starting to flow here as OSU enters Big 12 play. You can see it grasping at the back of his neck.

It’s beginning to touch his shirt collar. This is when it first started resembling all the t-shirts that were made in his honor.

OK we’re all systems go at this point. It’s running down his back. The front is as big as the back.

Stage 7

YES!

Stage 8

I mean that is an honest-to-God full-on mullet. Never cut your hair again, Mike. I want it touching your shoulders for the bowl game.
