Poll Question Tuesday: Not All Wins are Created Equal
I have been thinking about this idea a lot of late. One thing I like to prop up in support of Mike Gundy is how many wins he has over the last decade. Oklahoma State is No. 10 among Power 5 teams in winning percentage since 2010 and No. 11 since 2008, which is preposterous.
However, they only have one conference title in that span. So my question to you, the fan, circles around whether you would rather rack up 10-win seasons or sacrifice a few of those for one truly elite season.
To put it differently: Would you trade a few more losses in two of the last three years to have made the College Football Playoff in either 2015, 2016 or 2017? I should note: I’m presuming 13 wins at Oklahoma State doesn’t win you the national championship, especially now with a Big 12 title game.
I’m still not sure where I land on this, but I think where you land will reveal a lot about whether you’re happy with Mike Gundy. Not all, but a lot.
As always, your thoughts and comments below will be included in a follow-up post later on this week.
Poll question today: Which three-year run would you rather have?
Choice A: Three straight 10-win seasons (30 wins)
Choice B: Two 7-win seasons and a 13-win season (27 wins)— Pistols Firing (@pistolsguys) November 28, 2017
