Three-Star Defensive Tackle from Cedar Hill Commits to Oklahoma State
Three-star defensive tackle Xavier Ross of Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, Texas became the sixth addition to Oklahoma State’s 2019 class when he committed to the Pokes on Saturday morning. Ross joins recent commit Isreal Isuman-Hundley on the defensive line and is a top 150 player from the state of Texas.
Ross was offered a scholarship a few months ago and chose the Pokes over Purdue, Baylor, Indiana and Air Force. As 247 points out, he has probably gone a bit under-recruited given his 6-3, 285-pound frame.
… He is a Power Five-caliber interior defender from a perennially talent-laden big-school program that since 2006 has won three state championships in Texas’ largest classification. [247 Sports]
He had recently been getting some buzz from Texas, but the Horns never officially extended an offer. Now Ross will (presumably) be a Poke. He bumps OSU’s 2019 recruiting class to No. 38 nationally and solidifies a defensive tackle position that lacked in depth in the class of 2018.
“The recruiting process has been and continues to be a very exciting time in my life,” Ross wrote on Twitter. “With that said, I am blessed to announce that for the next chapter of my life I will be continuing my academics and football career at Oklahoma State University.”

Ross is monstrous on film and should fit nicely into Jim Knowles’ multi-twist scheme with a little bit of improved footwork. His film is pretty exciting.
