OSU Has Fifth-Best National Title Odds among Big 12 Teams in 2018
Summer is here. It’s the season of college sports lull and it leaves plenty of room for wildly ridiculous predictions and hyperbole. Justice Hill’s Heisman campaign, Tyron Johnson and Tylan Wallace’s all-conference seasons… Hell, why not Spencer Sanders’ Heisman campaign.
But it’s also the time for Vegas to start setting betting lines for what’s to come this fall.
Back on earth, Las Vegas sports book, Bovada released win totals for this upcoming college football season and Oklahoma State was given a starting point of eight.
Now we have college football regular-season win totals via @BovadaLV. Here's a few:
Baylor 5.5
Oklahoma 10.5
Ok St 8
Texas 8.5
Texas A&M 7
TCU 7.5
Quick thought: Most about right, give or take. Give me Texas under and TCU over.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) June 5, 2018
This jives with previous betting outlets who gave OSU the third-best odds to win the league behind OU and Texas. Probably a pretty solid prediction for two of those teams.
Here’s a look at some of the other win totals nationally.
Some win totals from @BovadaLV
Bama 10.5
Auburn 8.5
Clemson 10.5
Florida 7.5
FSU 7.5
Georgia 10.5
LSU 7
Miami 9.5
Michigan 9
ND 8.5
Ohio St 9.5
Oklahoma 10.5
PSU 9.5
Texas 8.5
USC 8.5
Washington 10.5
Wisconsin 10— Tom Fornelli (@TomFornelli) June 5, 2018
Bovada also gave Oklahoma State just the fifth-best odds to win the national championship among Big 12 teams. Apparently, they aren’t as juiced about Spencer Sanders as some of us around these parts.
Oklahoma – 18/1
Texas – 40/1
West Virginia 60/1
TCU – 90/1
Oklahoma State – 125/1
Kansas State – 225/1
Baylor – 500/1
Texas Tech – 500/1
Kansas – 1,000/1
By the way, don’t be scared of that Jayhawk action.
If anybody gives you 1,000/1 odds on anything, you take that bet.
