OSU Adds In-State Athlete R.J. Fisher as Walk-on from Lawton Eisenhower
Oklahoma State has bolstered its walk-on class for 2018 with the late addition of in-state standout R.J. Fisher, a former Lawton Eisenhower product who had been committed to Air Force since January.
He announced his decision earlier this week.
After much thought & prayer, I have decided it is in my best interest to continue my athletic career at Oklahoma State. Please respect my decision. #GoPokes ? pic.twitter.com/1U5q3unX45

Fisher could play on offense as either a receiver or running back for the Cowboys, or on defense as a safety, linebacker or corner, though it’s unclear where he’ll start out his career at OSU. GoPokes.com reports he’ll likely start at receiver.
The 6-2, 210-pound athlete was a swiss-army knife weapon in high school who starred as a quarterback, where he compiled 1,248 yards passing and 1,287 yards rushing as a senior. He also played on the defensive side of the ball. Despite his accolades, Fisher was lightly recruited. He ultimately chose Air Force over Arkansas State, Stephen F. Austin and the other two service academies.
Fisher’s versatility will be a welcomed addition for the Cowboys, especially at such a late stage in the recruiting cycle. Even if he doesn’t make an immediate impact, he’s a talented athlete whom OSU can redshirt and build up in the strength and conditioning program, with hopes that he develops into an elite playmaker in college in the same way he was in high school.
