Report: Dan Bailey to Sign with Minnesota Vikings
The historically accurate kicker wasn’t long without and NFL home.
Former OSU Cowboy Dan Bailey, the second most-accurate place kicker in NFL history, has found a new home according to a report by Ian Rapoport and confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The #Vikings, loaded basically everywhere, have just agreed to terms with the second most accurate kicker in NFL history. Dan Bailey waited for the right deal, now lands in Minnesota.

Bailey was a surprising roster cut by the Dallas Cowboys as the team trimmed its roster to the 53-man limit on September 1. The Cowboys instead signed CFL journeyman Brett Maher, which saved the team roughly $2.9 million for 2018. The terms of Bailey’s deal with Minnesota are forthcoming.
Bailey has been a popular free agent target through the early goings of the 2018 season. He reportedly had a workout with the New York Jets and fielded offers from several teams, including the Cleveland Browns, before choosing to head north to the Twin Cities.
Be interesting to see if former Cowboys’ kicker Dan Bailey can be convinced to sign with one of these kicker-needy teams.
As of yesterday, Bailey had turned down appealing offers from four teams, per source.

Bailey was automatic in his career prior to last year when a groin injury caused him to miss the four games (the first inactives of his career) and to post career lows in field goal percentage (75 percent) and extra-point percentage (92.9 percent), the first missed PATs of his then seven-year career.
