Baker Mayfield Calls OSU ‘Little Brother’ on Twitter Ahead of Bedlam
Baker stirs the pot.
Baker Mayfield became a Bedlam staple — and villain — over his final seasons in Norman as the OU gunslinger. Now that he’s off to the NFL quarterbacking a woeful Cleveland Browns team, he won’t have an impact on the outcome. But Baker being Baker, he did manage to get a word in on Twitter ahead of Saturday.
“Treat the little brother how they deserve to be treated!!!!” he tweeted, adding a predictably insufferable hashtag #HandleBarMustache tag alluding to his previous tradition of growing out his mustache ahead of Bedlam.
He also tweeted out highlights of his previous wins over his former in-state rival.

Though Baker won’t be on the field Saturday, OU hasn’t taken much — if any — step back with its lethal offense. Led by Kyler Murray, who is completing 70.6 percent of his passes through nine games, the Sooners have the second most dominant offense in the country behind only Alabama. That’s reflected by the stunning Vegas line that has the Sooners favored by 20 ahead of Saturday.
We’ll see if Murray has the same success Baker had against OSU, but the way this season is headed for both programs, it’s not crazy to think he could have a field day that Baker never had against the in-state Pokes.
