Newcomer Tracker: Former Oklahoma Preps Star Jason Taylor II Makes Debut

How have OSU’s newbies fared to date and which players will redshirt?

For a second time in three weeks, a former Oklahoma preps standout made his freshman debut for Oklahoma State.

On Saturday as OSU took down No. 9 West Virginia, 45-41, Carl Albert product Jason Taylor II joined former Bixby star Bryce Bray among the select handful of freshman to see the field as true newbies in 2018. Taylor II did not record a statistic, but the safety played a small role in the upset.

No matter if he assumes a starting role or plays sparingly from here out, he will have preserved his redshirt because he’s guaranteed to play fewer than four games this season.

So who else saw the field Saturday? The usual suspects, Kolby Peel and Jarrick Bernard, played big roles vs. the Mountaineers. None of the other newcomers recorded stats in the official box score.
