Taylor Cornelius’ Senior Day played out much like his season has. A quick start was shortly followed by some cringe-worthy gaffes. But the fifth-year QB finished strong showing grit and making plays when his team needed it.

After going 11-for-18 with a pair of TDs and a pair of INTs in the first half, Cornelius completed 67 percent of his passes during the final two frames and throwing for another 197 yards and three scores. He would finish the day with 338 yards and six total TDs including the game-winner to Tylan Wallace with 42 seconds remaining.

“He rallied back and we kind of settled in with what we needed to do, and he was on track pretty good,” said Mike Gundy after the game. “Couldn’t be any more proud of him and his ability to throw the ball and run it.”

There’s plenty for Gundy to be proud of his QB in that regard. Cornelius became just the third player in Big 12 history to account for at least 300 passing yards and another 100 on the ground and at least five passing touchdowns in a game.

For his efforts, Cornelius has earned been named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week as well as Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week.
