Instacap: Cowboys Force Overtime, Fall to No. 11 Texas Tech
Oklahoma State fell just short of the huge upset.
What a wild night in Lubbock.
It took overtime for Texas Tech to beat Oklahoma State. The final was 84-80.
The Cowboys trailed the No. 11 Red Raiders 37-27 at halftime before a 44-point second half. Lindy Waters was the Cowboys hero, scoring 17 points in the second half, including the Cowboys final 12 points of regulation, and this gem to send the game into overtime.
Waters finished the night with 26 points, going 7-for-10 from 3-point range.
Thomas Dziagwa kept the Cowboys afloat before Waters got going. He finished with 20 points with six 3-pointers. Dziagwa, Waters and fellow captain Cameron McGriff all played more than 40 minutes Wednesday night, and just about the whole roster was in foul trouble. Yor Anei fouled out after playing only 15 minutes.
The Cowboys are back in action Saturday when Kansas comes to Stillwater. Tip time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
