Jordan Brailford Selected by Washington Redskins in 7th Round of 2019 NFL Draft
Brailford missed the “Mr. Irrelevant” designation by one pick.
Cowboy fans waited until the third day to see an OSU player selected in this year’s NFL Draft — when Justice Hill was taken in Round 4 by Baltimore — but had to wait until the very end of that third day to see the second one chosen.
Jordan Brailford, OSU’s sack leading from 2018, was taken with the 253rd overall pick in the seventh round by the Washington Redskins. It was the draft’s penultimate pick, one slot away from being tabbed “Mr. Irrelevant.”
All glory to GOD!! see you soon D.C @Redskins

Washington ranked 15th in the NFL in team defense in 2018 and 15th in passing defense, but was 28th in sack percentage. The Redskins brass selected Montez Sweat in the second round and now Brailford in hopes to bolster their deficient edge rush.
Brailford ended his redshirt junior season second in the Big 12 in sacks (nine) and his 16 tackles for loss came in fifth in the league. The all-conference first-teamer is a little undersized for an NFL defensive end, but showed his versatility last season lining up in multiple roles at outside linebacker and even playing some in coverage. He projects as a situational edge rusher and outside backer at the next level.
