Former OSU Pledge Davonte Davis Commits to Arkansas
Davonte Davis wasn’t on the market for long.
Less than two weeks after decommitting from Oklahoma State, Davis committed to Arkansas on Saturday. Davis, an Arkansas native, is the 98th-ranked recruit in the 2020 class.
Davis originally committed to OSU last December, but it’s thought that Mike Boynton’s continued pursuit of Cade Cunningham and Bryce Thompson likely deterred Davis’ commitment. All three would fill somewhat similar roles.
Since withdrawing his commitment on Oct. 1, Davis announced offers from Texas Tech, Arkansas and Ole Miss, who all jumped back to Davis when he became available.
Davis is AAU teammates with Jaylin Williams, who also has an OSU offer. Williams is ranked 69th among 2020 prospects and was linked highly with Boynton’s squad at one time. A 6-foot-9 center, Williams sent a congratulatory tweet to his fellow Arkansan.
Congrats brotha?

OSU and Arkansas were in Williams’ top seven that he released in early September.
As if eyes weren’t already on Cunningham and Thompson, they are even more now. Cunningham is on an official visit at Kentucky this weekend, where he took in UK’s Big Blue Madness on Friday night.
After visiting Kansas last weekend, Thompson is at a USA Basketball camp this weekend, an opportunity Cunningham passed on for his Kentucky visit.
