Chuba Hubbard Breaks Loose for Career-High 92-Yard Run
You can’t keep him bottled up for long.
Gary Patterson had plenty to like about how well his defense corralled Chuba Hubbard in the first half. No. 30 had seven carries for just 31 yards through two quarters, but the nation’s leading rusher wouldn’t be bottle up for long.
Another TCU punt had pinned the Cowboys deep in their own territory, but those are just details if you give Chuba a glance at the open field.
One step and he was GundyGone.GIF
The play went for the longest of Chuba’s career and tied for the fourth-longest rushing play in Oklahoma State history. It also pushed him over the 100-yard mark for the seventh-straight game and eighth time this year.
But before we could blog that up, Chuba added this 62-yard dash to paydirt to push him over the 200-yard mark. Someone needs to check in on Gary Patterson.
Chuba’s stranglehold on the rushing title is just strengthening. Coming into Saturday, his 1,381 rushing yards gave him a 271-yard lead over the next rusher in line, Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins who is on a bye week. Hubbard now has the eighth-most productive season by a rusher in OSU history with four games still to go.
