Oklahoma State Slated for Huge Recruiting Weekend in Stillwater
A look at names who will be on campus and targets to watch.
While the Oklahoma State coaches and players continue to prepare for the Texas Bowl in two weeks, the coaching staff is working overtime to try and close the deal on several late-cycle targets in the 2020 recruiting class.
According to GoPokes.com, Stillwater will be the site for a number of OSU commitments this weekend as they make official visits before signing day, but two uncommitted linebackers are the ones to watch here. Let’s get you up to speed:
1. Mason Cobb, 6-1, 220 pounds, inside linebacker
Oklahoma State is suddenly heavily targeting Utah — and with recent success. The staff flipped the commitment of 2020 Utah State safety/linebacker commit Nicolas Session last month, and is now working on Provo, Utah prospect Mason Cobb.
Cobb has nearly a dozen scholarship offers but the biggest among them are Utah State, Arizona, Oklahoma State and Louisville. He told Louisville’s 247 site on Tuesday that OSU, Louisville and Arizona are his current top three.
OSU coaches Dan Hammerschmidt and Tim Duffie paid him a visit this past week leading up to his trip.

2. Krishon Merriweather, 6-0, 230 pounds, inside linebacker
Oklahoma State offered Merriweather just last week, so it’s a good sign that the Garden City Community College product is already making his way to town. He’s an expected early enrollee, so where he goes will likely be decided swiftly. He visited Texas Tech last week and is visiting UMass as well.
Merriweather played for Hazelwood West High School in Missouri before taking the junior college route. With a slew of recent offers from high major programs, he’s one of the late-rising linebacker targets from the region OSU is now prioritizing. And with good reason — he’s a monstrous pass-rusher who fills gaps, makes smart reads and punishes opposing players.
Commits taking official visits
- Trent Pullen, OL
- Eli Russ, OL
- Monroe Mills, OL
- Tyren Irby, DE
- Zach Middleton, ATH
- Brennan Presley, ATH
- Cole Thompson, LB
- Jeff Roberson, LB
- Quinton Stewart, CW
- Jordan Reagan, CB
This will likely be the final blowout recruiting weekend for Oklahoma State ahead of the early signing period, which runs Dec. 18-20. The final signing is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2020.
