OSU Wrestling: NCAA Announces Conference Automatic Qualifier Allocations

The Big 12 tournament is coming up next weekend and here are how the conference NCAA tournament allocations break out.

• 125 pounds — Big 12: 4
• 133 pounds — Big 12: 7
• 141 pounds — Big 12: 5
• 149 pounds — Big 12: 5
• 157 pounds — Big 12: 5
• 165 pounds — Big 12: 4
• 174 pounds — Big 12: 5
• 184 pounds — Big 12: 5
• 197 pounds — Big 12: 7
• 285 pounds — Big 12: 7

This means for the Cowboys to get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament they need to place at the number listed or higher at the Big 12s. Based on Flo’s current Big 12 rankings the Cowboys are expected to get in at every weight except heavyweight.

• 184 — Anthony Montalvo: 2nd
• 197 — Dakota Geer: 5th
• 285 — Austin Harris: 11th

Austin Harris will need to wrestle a little over his head to finish 7th to get an automatic bid, but the Cowboys should have a strong chance to get nine to the tournament.
