OSU Offers 2023 RB Prospect John Randle Jr., Nephew of Joseph Randle
Will the younger Randle follow in his uncle’s footsteps?
Mike Gundy and Co. are doing their best to get in early on an intriguing 2023 rusher in John Randle Jr., the Wichita, Kan. product announced an offer via Twitter on Tuesday.
If the name rings a bell it’s because Randle is the son of former KU running back John Randle Sr. — and the nephew of former Oklahoma State and Dallas Cowboy running back Joseph Randle.
Thanks Oklahoma State for showing interest in my son @RandleJ22 I know your uncle Joe Randle is proud. Good chatting with you @JohnWozniak2 tell Coach Gundy Hello. https://t.co/YH0LBrcT7g

There’s not a ton of info out there on the underclassman, as you might imagine, but at already 6 feet and 170 pounds — and with three years still to develop — it’s easy to day dream that the younger Randle could grow into a similar physical freak as his uncle. And if that’s the case, the Cowboys may be glad they got in early on him.
For a reminder, here’s the type of athlete and bruiser that Joe Randle was at OSU.
A glance at Randle’s freshman highlights shows some similarities between John Jr. and Joe. You’ve can see athleticism, speed and a big body that can catch passes out of the backfield.
Randle just finished up his freshman season at Heights High School. His offer list isn’t long, but it’s growing fast. On May 1, he received his first offers from by Kansas State and then Iowa and then picked up offers Nos. 3 and 4 from Nebraska and OSU on May 5.
This is the Cowboys’ second running back offer for the 2023 cycle. OSU extended a bid for El Campo, Texas rusher Rueben Owens on Jan. 6.
