Oklahoma State Gets in Early on Kansas Standout Landon Dean
This small school sophomore already has three Big 12 offers.
Usually players labeled as athletes in recruiting are some hybrid of a receiver, a running back and a defensive back, but Landon Dean is a much bigger athlete.
From a small town in southeast Kansas, Dean announced an Oklahoma State offer this weekend. At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, he is a 2022 defensive end/tight end hybrid. He mentioned OSU defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements in his tweet so it looks as if that’s where OSU is pursuing him.
After a great conversation with @joebobclements I have received my third D1 offer from Oklahoma State. pic.twitter.com/N01dB1Mp3B

Others Involved
OSU is in early on Dean. The Cowboys became Dean’s third Division-I offer, joining Kansas State and Iowa State. Considering Dean’s first three offers are from Big 12 schools, his trajectory projects quite a strong offer list by the time he is a high school senior.
In the Rankings
Dean is listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports. The publication has him as the 28th-best strong-side defensive end in the class and the No. 4 player from Kansas.
Measurables
As mentioned above, Dean is listed at 6-4, 230 pounds.
Stats
He doesn’t have any stats listed, but Dean’s Frontenac squad finished 10-2 last season. The Raiders were 10-1 in the regular season and fell in the first round of the playoffs. The Topeka Capital-Journal listed him as an All-State defensive lineman in the 3A class. He was one of only two underclassmen selected to the team.
OSU at the Position
The Cowboys now have seven offers out to defensive ends in the 2022 cycle. The 2022 season would be Trace Ford’s and Tyler Lacy’s senior year. Brock Martin would be gone, but OSU would still have promising players like Isreal Isuman-Hundley and Kody Walterscheid and whoever the staff is able to land in the 2021 cycle.
