Holy Smokes, OSU Football Recruiting Popped off on Wednesday
A recap of A DAY.
Yo. Wednesday was a day. Oklahoma State jumped more than 30 spots in the national recruiting rankings for 2021 on the back of a four-commitment day, headlined by twin additions Bryson and Blaine Green, both of whom sit 1-2 at the top of the ratings for OSU’s class.
A day.
I’ve covered OSU recruiting for more than a half-decade now, and best I can tell, it was the biggest single-day windfall on record. Landing two commitments in a single day is in itself a win, but a quartet of cats joining the club is virtually unheard of — even from the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world.
Here’s a recap of the day to help digest it once more.
12:03 p.m.: Bryson Green commits. The four-star Allen, Texas receiver beat his twin brother, Blaine, by a mere seconds by announcing on Twitter that he’s committed to Oklahoma State.
12:04 p.m.: Blaine Green commits. The other Green twin followed Bryson’s announcement up just seconds later, though Bryson technically announced both their news at 12:03. The two shared matching Twitter videos (because of course!) to make their announcement, replete with a Tombstone teaser and a “Go Pokes!” to boot.
2:09 p.m.: Cam Smith commits. Just as the high of the twins committing was wearing off, Cam Smith — a three-star athlete from Texas — announced he was also joining the fold for 2021. He chose OSU over K-State, Vandy, UConn and others, and his family co-announced the decision with him in a video posted on social media.
5:21 p.m.: Logan Nobles commits. This one was something of a surprise. Jenks offensive lineman Logan Nobles only recently popped on the radar after OSU offered him a week ago, but he wasted no time announcing his commitment to cap the day that was. The 6-6, 260 Nobles turned down Kansas, Vandy and a host of other smaller programs. OSU verbal commitments Collin Oliver and Raymond Gay approved.
