Former OSU, Seattle CB Kemah Siverand Apologizes for Sneaking Guest into Hotel
Siverand called his actions “inexcusable.”
Former Oklahoma State cornerback Kemah Siverand issued an apology Monday after being caught earlier this month trying to sneak a woman into the Seattle Seahawks’ team hotel during training camp, calling it an “inexcusable” mistake during a pandemic.
“After taking time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I have tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all of those affected by my poor decision and immaturity,” he said on Twitter. “I’ve privately apologized to Coach Carroll, John Schneider and the entire Seahawks organization. I violated team rules, which would be unacceptable in normal times, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic.”
Siverand was cut by the franchise after video showed a woman, disguised in Seahawks gear in an attempt to blend in as a player, was caught trying to sneak into the team hotel with him.

Clear message on the responsibility everyone has in the NFL’s COVID-19 world: Put the team at risk, suffer the consequences.

The former OSU corner went undrafted in this year’s NFL Draft and had signed with the Seahawks as a free agent on what amounted to a prove-it deal. He needed to impress in rookie minicamp and earn a spot on the 53-man final roster, which was likely to be an uphill battle even before the incident.
At OSU, Siverand played in every game as a junior and senior after transferring from Texas A&M and mostly served in a rotation role at corner and as a special teams player. He has not yet picked up another NFL opportunity, but apologizing for his misstep could be the first step toward eventually getting another shot in the pros and regaining the trust of those around the league.
