Baylor, OSU’s Oct. 17 Opponent, Suspends Football Activities
Baylor is dealing with a COVID outbreak.
Oklahoma State and its next opponent, Baylor, each have open weeks this weekend, but Baylor’s is a little more open.
On Thursday, Baylor announced it is pausing all football-related activities to allow further evaluation of recent positive tests and the completion of close contact tracing.
“At this time and in the interest of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we have temporarily suspended all football-related activities,” Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades said. “Their health and wellness will always be our top priority. We are taking all possible precautions and our focus remains playing the scheduled game with Oklahoma State at McLane Stadium on Oct. 17.”
Baylor is just 1-1 this season after canceling its nonconference game against Houston Baptist. The Bears beat Kansas 47-14 on Sept. 26 before falling to West Virginia in double-overtime last weekend.
