CJ Brown Commitment Primer: Four-star to Decide Today
Good news may be on the way today.
Four-star athlete CJ Brown, a top-5 talent from Oklahoma in the 2022 recruiting class, will make his college commitment at noon Friday.
Good news may be on the way for OSU.
The Pokes have prioritized Brown after becoming one of the first high-major programs to offer him earlier this year, and they are in the final running along with Nebraska and Arkansas.
Perhaps related — and perhaps not — Gundy alluded to an imminent commitment on Friday morning with this tweet. After posting a similar tweet earlier this week, the Pokes shortly thereafter learned that Nick Martin had picked OSU.
Brown is listed as an athlete who plays running back and defensive back. He also runs track, fitting the mold of players OSU targets as multi-sport athletes.
As for his national standing, Brown has garnered nearly a dozen scholarship offers and currently ranks as a top-300 national talent and a four-star recruit.
Prediction: OSU
OSU has some serious competition here — and it wouldn’t surprise me if somehow Arkansas dipped into the state and landed another star. But I’m giving OSU the slight edge here, and reading the tea leaves, I don’t think it’s crazy to assume that OSU’s staff is expecting good news in short order.
