OSU Lands Commitment from Snow College Defender Nathan Latu
A big one for the Pokes with less than a week until signing day.
Oklahoma State made an offer to Snow College defender Nathan Latu on Friday, and on Friday, Latu shut down his recruitment.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker announced his OSU offer on Twitter while simultaneously announcing his commitment to the Cowboys, giving the Pokes a shot in the arm for their 2021 class with less than a week before the start of the December signing period.
“I want to thank [OSU player development specialist Beni Toga] for believing in me & also thank everybody who helped me get this far,” he said on Twitter. “& it doesn’t stop here so I’m committing & taking the next step towards my dream.”
Latu was originally a member of the 2018 recruiting class, where he signed with BYU before ending up at Snow. OSU beat out reported offers from UNLV, Idaho, Missouri State, Montana State and Idaho State for his services.
With Latu in the fold, OSU is up to 19 commitments this recruiting cycle, with he, Donovan Stephens and Collin Oliver expected to play linebacker. Each, though, have the size, mobility and experience to play outside linebacker, inside linebacker or even rush the quarterback off the edge in the LEO position like Trace Ford.
