Oklahoma State Releases Spring Roster; Brown, Martin Included
It looks like LD Brown is returning to Stillwater.
Oklahoma State released a 2021 spring football roster Wednesday, and it looks like it answered some questions.
LD Brown, Tay Martin and Logan Carter were all included on the roster. The three have been thought to be returning but no official announcement had been made. The three were seniors last year, and it looks as if they’ll take advantage of the COVID-caused eligibility waiver to play another season.
Brown has been a contributor at running back since his redshirt freshman season in 2017, but he has yet to start a season as the Cowboys’ featured back. He is probably the favorite to be the Cowboys’ starter next season with Dezmon Jackson and Dominic Richardson also contributing.
Brown has 149 career carries where he has 821 yards and five touchdowns. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice last season, running for 110 while injured against Kansas State and going for 103 and a touchdown against West Virginia.
Martin is the likely successor to Tylan Wallace at the Z receiver spot. Martin transferred to OSU from Washington State before last season. He filled in for Wallace there in the Cheez-It Bowl after the half. He finished that game with six catches for 73 yards.
With Jelani Woods gone to Virginia, Logan Carter is likely the guy at Cowboy back for OSU. He caught eight passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in 2020.
Early Enrollees
This is also the first time OSU’s early enrollees are officially on the Pokes’ roster.
There isn’t too much new there.
Gunnar Gundy is the only freshman with a number at this time, as he will wear No. 12. It’s the same number Mike Gundy wore during his playing days, and it’s what Gunnar wore at Stillwater High.
Collin Oliver and Lyrik Rawls are listed a different positions than their recruiting profiles, but that was expected. Oliver is listed as a defensive end; 247Sports listed him as a linebacker. Rawls is listed as a corner; 247Sports listed him as a safety.
Here is a look at the early enrollee freshmen:
