Former Oklahoma State Wrestler AJ Ferrari Charged with Sexual Battery
An update to the AJ Ferrari saga.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former Oklahoma State wrestler AJ Ferrari.
In news first reported by Beau Simmons of the Stillwater News Press, Ferrari has been charged with sexual battery. His bond is set at $25,000.
A woman filed an emergency protective order against Ferrari on July 5. Stillwater police responded to a report of sexual assault on July 2.
“The case is currently under investigation by our Criminal Investigation’s Unit,” SPD’s release on the matter said. “SPD is committed to thoroughly investigating these cases. Once the investigation is complete the case will be submitted to the Payne County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of filing charge.”
Ferrari’s attorney said in a release, obtained by The O’Colly’s Adam Engel, that the allegations against Ferrari are false.
Ferrari was 30-1 in his career at Oklahoma State, going 20-1 in his national championship true freshman season. He was 10-0 as a sophomore before a car accident ended his season prematurely. The only loss Ferrari has suffered at the collegiate level came against Noah Adams at the Cowboy Challenge Tournament. He was the No. 1 recruit in the country out of high school.
Ferrari is no longer a part of the OSU wrestling team.
Update: Ferrari was booked in Payne County at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday and posted bond shortly thereafter, according to Engel.
