OSU Narrow Favorite against Kansas on Saturday
OSU is historically nails as a road fav under Gundy.
Oklahoma State is a favorite against Kansas on Saturday as it looks to shake off its 48-0 loss to Kansas State from the weekend, but, uh, in the theme of Halloween week, it’s scary just how close oddsmakers are projecting this one.
OSU is just a 2-point favorite at Caesars Sportsbook against the Jayhawks on the road. Those odds are slightly better elsewhere — DraftKings and FanDuel has OSU at -3.5 — but the line has been trending closer toward KU since it was first posted over the weekend.
And who can blame oddsmakers? I mean, OSU to me is the better team — and obviously the odds reflect that given that OSU is a slight favorite even on the road — but my goodness that is closer to a pick ’em than probably anyone could’ve guessed in the preseason.
The good thing for OSU is that Kansas seems to be coming back down to earth after its scorching start. Without starting QB Jalon Daniels, it has lost its last three games to Baylor, OU and TCU, respectively by an average of just shy of 10 points per contest.
OSU has been a favorite four times this season, but Saturday will mark the first time all season it has been a road favorite. As an away favorite under Mike Gundy, OSU is 41-10, according to TeamRankings.com data.
