Watch: Rickie Fowler Drains an Impressive Hole-in-One on No. 7 at Waste Management Open
Rickie gets the crowd going with his third ace on tour.
Rickie Fowler’s ace on No. 7 pulled him to within four strokes of the lead in the final round of the Waste Management Pheonix Open on Sunday. It was a fun spectacle and another good sign on his way to being back.
It was Fowler’s third hole-in-one on tour and his first since the 2015 Quicken Loans National. It makes the fifth time that someone has aced the 216-yard hole at TPC Scottsdale which has hosted the WM Pheonix Open since 1987. As of writing, Fowler is T12th having turned in a 67 in the final round to follow up a 66 on Saturday.
While the spectacle is fun for fans, it further underlines Fowler’s recent resurgence to form.
After an up-and-down few years, Fowler seems to have started to right the ship after returning to long-time swing coach Butch Harmon in 2022. Fowler entered the week ranked 23rd in the FedExCup rankings after a runner-up at the ZOZO Championship. He ranked third in strokes gained on the week in Scottsdale.
Rickie will be in action next week with a star-studded cast at the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
