OSU Hoops Receiving Votes in AP Top 25 After Win Streak Extends to Five Games
OSU could be ranked this time next week if it keeps winning.
Oklahoma State received votes in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll on Monday when the rankings refreshed, with the Cowboys in both polls getting ample support from voters but not quite enough to crack the top 25.
In the AP poll, OSU would be ranked No. 31 if the poll extended past 25. It received 23 votes in the poll behind only Mizzou, Northwestern, Illinois, Pitt and Nevada among unranked teams.
In the Coaches Poll, OSU would be ranked No. 33 if the poll went past 25 teams. In that poll, OSU received 15 votes from coaches.
OSU has not been ranked in the AP poll since the 2020-21 season when, in Week 12, it cracked the rankings at No. 23 before peaking five weeks later at No. 11 led by Cade Cunningham. Prior to that, OSU had not been ranked since the 2014-15 season when it bumped into the 20s briefly late in the season.
OSU could very well play its way into the top 25 if it continues its strong play with yet another big week. Riding a five-game winning streak, OSU welcomes No. 5 Kansas into Stillwater on Tuesday and faces TCU on the road Saturday before the next rankings drop. A 2-0 week — or even a 1-1 week with a win over Kansas and a road loss at TCU — might just be enough to push it into the top 25.
