Five-Star CB Kobe Black, Younger Brother of OSU CB Korie, Cuts OSU from List

OSU over the years has had quite a bit of success landing package deals to secure commitments from multiple family members, but it doesn’t appear that will be the case with a highly touted five star in the 2024 class.

Top-15 national recruit Kobe Black, the younger brother of OSU football player Korie Black, revealed his top 11 schools earlier this week and notably omitted Oklahoma State from consideration. OU, Texas, TCU, LSU, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Oregon and Florida all made the cut.

OSU was the first to offer Kobe a scholarship all the way back in 2019 well before he was on the national radar, but interest in him the last year has exploded with blueblood schools left and right getting involved in the bidding.

Missing on Kobe Black hurts for OSU, and while over the years they have done well to leverage themselves to land multiple family members, his likely commitment elsewhere also underscores just how difficult it is to get a 2-for-1 deal on brothers. Other brothers who initially signed with OSU and had highly rated younger brothers play elsewhere include Caden Sterns (Jordan’s younger brother) and Damion Daniels (Darrion’s younger brother).
