The Cowgirls earned some payback on Saturday and earned their third Big 12 series win.

Oklahoma State defeated BYU 10-2 by run rule, rebounding from a loss in which the Cougars logged two grand slams on Friday night. This time it was the orange bats that were red hot.

Caroline Wang (2-for-4) hit her second home run in as many games. Tallen Edwards went 3-for-4 and set a career record with five runs batted in. That moves her season total to 25, just three off the Cowgirls’ leader Karli Godwin. Godwin went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs herself.

The Cowgirls scored three runs each in the first, fourth and sixth innings, and they didn’t even need a seventh.

That three-run coffin nail in the sixth got started with Edwards’ single to right field.

Ivy Rosenberry moved to 8-1, allowing two runs and walking two in four innings before Lexi Kilfoyl spelled her for the final two, allowing no hits, walking one and earning one strikeout.

After OSU’s comeback attempt on Friday night fell short, head coach Kenny Gajewski said he was excited to see how his team would respond. The Cowgirls lived up to his expectations.

“Good way to finish the weekend out here,” Gajewski said. “Way to answer back from last night’s game. I thought it was a complete team win. I thought we pitched well. I thoght we played great catch and we just were relentless i our bats and the way we ran the bases. I was just very proud of our team.”
