OSU Baseball: Cowboys Take Series over No. 18 TCU with a 6-3 Comeback Win
The Cowboys came out of the weather delay with five unanswered runs.
A little delay didn’t rain on the Cowboys’ parade.
Oklahoma State defeated No. 18 TCU 6-3, earning its first Big 12 series victory. The Cowboys turned a weather stoppage into an opportunity and scored five unanswered runs once things got back going.
Zach Ehrahrd went 4-for-4, and Nolan Shubart (2-for-4) batted two runs in. Aidan Meola, Tyler Wulfter and Lane Forsythe each logged an RBI in the comeback win.
Gabe Davis pitched the first two innings for the Pokes before Mother Nature took over.
A weather delay stopped the action in the bottom of the second for just over an hour. The Cowboys were down 2-1 but had runners on first and second and two outs. Charlie Carter had just taken the plate. He would strike out shortly after play resumed to end the second.
Otherwise, the Cowboys came out of the weather delay in earnest, shutting down the Horned Frogs for good and piling on three quick runs to take the lead.
Tommy Molksy earned the win and moved to 3-0 on the year after pitching the Cowboys out of the rain delay with four stellar innings. He struck out all three Horned Frogs who stepped to the plate in the third and would log seven Ks in four innings, allowing no hits or runs and walking two.
The Cowboys took the lead in the bottom of the third with an RBI each from Shubart, Meola and Wulfert.

After Molsky’s tight four, Drew Blake took over on the mound top start the seventh and was able to put the Frogs to rest. In two innings, he allowed just one hit, no runs and logged a strike out.
The Cowboys extended their lead in the seventh with an RBI double from Shubart before Kollin Ritchie scored on a wild pitch to make it 6-2.
Carson Benge took the mound for the final inning, allowing two hits and one run to make it 6-3 but the Cowboys held on for the series win.

With the win, the Cowboys move to 15-9 on the year and 3-3 in Big 12 play. They’ll reconvene in Kansas on Tuesday for a midweek matchup with Wichita State before heading to Morgantown on Friday for a weekend series against West Virginia.
