Watch: Oklahoma State Safety Parker Robertson Gets Put on Scholarship
Robertson made a huge play in Morgantown last season.
The Cowboys got a new scholarship player, but he came straight from the roster.
Oklahoma State on Wednesday announced Parker Robertson, formerly a walk-on safety, was put on scholarship heading into his redshirt-junior season. OSU did so with a cool video that featured safeties coach Dan Hammerschmidt and Mike Gundy.

Robertson was voted a team captain for the Cowboys’ 2023 squad. He was a core part to the Cowboys’ special teams efforts, finishing the year with 12 tackles and a huge fumble recovery that flipped the Cowboys’ fortunes in Morgantown. OSU trailed the Mountaineers 24-20 heading into the fourth quarter last season before Robertson was quick to react and get ahold of a muffed punt. That sprung the Cowboys to outscoring WVU 28-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
