David Taylor has officially started his 2026 recruiting class.

Rocklin Zinkin on Friday announced his commitment to wrestle at Oklahoma State. He’s the first recruit from the 2026 class to commit to the Cowboys, as it’s still really early in the recruitment process for the class. Zinkin is projected to wrestle at 133 pounds once at OSU.

“I’m beyond blessed and proud to announce my commitment to Oklahoma State University,” Zinkin said in his announcement on Instagram. “I’ve always wanted to be a Cowboy.”

Zinkin, from Buchanan High School in California, continues a pipeline from the West that has recently developed for the Cowboys. Entering his junior season, Zinkin is already a two-time state finalist in California. He won a state title at 113 pounds last season as a sophomore. He’s emerged as the No. 44 recruit in a stacked 2026 class.

Zinkin visited OSU earlier this month. Taylor was also in Buchanan in June putting on a wrestling camp.

Although Zinkin is OSU’s first commitment from the 2026, the Cowboys have already drawn a lot of interest from the group. Earlier this week, Jax Forrest, the top prospect in the class according to FloWrestling, included OSU in his top 10 schools. The second-ranked recruit in the class, Bo Bassett, also has the Cowboys in his top 17 while taking a unique angle toward the recruitment process. Depending on the outlet, Forrest and Bassett swap between being the top recruit in the 2026 class.
