Weeden, Blackmon Named Oklahoma State Homecoming Grand Marshals
Weeden2Blackmon is back.
Weeden2Blackmon will be back in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State announced on Monday that Cowboy greats Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon will serve as grand marshals of America’s Greatest Homecoming, which is scheduled for the week of Oct. 28 through Nov. 2 — the weekend the Pokes host Arizona State.
“Stillwater is a place that always felt like home,” Weeden said in OSU’s release. “I love the environment and the atmosphere, the people are fantastic. We have the greatest homecoming in the country, and I’m excited to be a part of something very special.”
Weeden and Blackmon cemented their legacies in Cowboy lore as part of the 2011 OSU football team that won the program’s only Big 12 title and beat Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl. Weeden was the quarterback of that squad with Blackmon as his top target, making Weeden2Blackmon famous. Blackmon won his second Biletnikoff Award, given to the best receiver in the country, at the end of that 2011 season. Most recently, Blackmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Headlining homecoming festivities will be the Cowboys hosting Arizona State at 6 p.m. Nov. 2. OSU is 3-4 this season riding a four-game losing streak and still looking for its first conference win, while the Sun Devils, in their first season in the Big 12, are 5 -2 and 2-2 in league play.
