TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

The Cowboys have made their first move in the transfer portal, and it comes on the offensive line.

Kasen Carpenter, who started nine games at center for Tulsa this year, announced he had committed to Oklahoma State. Carpenter was a redshirt freshman this past season and should have three years of eligibility remaining.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 291 pounds, Carpenter played 873 snaps as a redshirt freshman this past season, according to Pro Football Focus. PFF has him giving up just one sack in that time to go with 14 QB hurries.

He played his high school senior season at Allen after three years at Midlothian Heritage. He was an all-state selection as a senior. 247Sports listed him as the No. 94 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 class. He also had offers to Texas Tech, UNLV, Arkansas State and others as a high schooler.

He redshirted at Tulsa in 2023.

Oklahoma State is losing a bevy of offensive linemen to eligibility, as starters Dalton Cooper, Cole Birmingham, Joe Michaelski, Preston Wilson and Jake Springfield are all done. Among offensive linemen who played at least 100 snaps for the Cowboys last season, only Isaia Glass and Austin Kawecki are eligible to return.

Carpenter is the first player the Cowboys have gotten from the portal, which officially opens Dec. 9 (Carpenter was able to enter after Kevin Wilson was let go). It looks to be a heavy portal season at OSU and around the country. OSU is also putting the finishing touches on its 2025 high school class. About the same time Carpenter committed to OSU, Draden Fullbright, a former Tulsa cornerback commit, did the same.
