Out of McGehee, Arkansas, Owens started his college career in the JUCO ranks at Coffeyville in Kansas.
Owens played in 11 games in his first year at UCA (2022), catching three passes for 26 yards and two touchdowns before catching seven passes for 56 yards and three scores in 2023.
OSU’s tight end room is set to lose Tyler Foster to eligibility. Foster transferred in from Ohio ahead of last season and was a primary tight end option for the Cowboys alongside freshman Josh Ford.
Owens is the third player the Cowboys have gotten from the portal this offseason, joining offensive linemen Kasen Carpenter (Tulsa) and Lavaka Taukeiaho (Weber State).
