Report: Cowboys Add 2025 Quarterback Mason Schubert
The Cowboys add a fourth QB.
The Cowboys have added a fourth QB for 2025.
Mason Schubert has joined Oklahoma State’s quarterback room, according to Pokes Report. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound southpaw won’t have far to travel. Schubert hails from Stillwater High School where capped his prep career passing for 1,887 yards and 26 touchdowns to just three interceptions in 2024. He also added 307 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground.
Schubert was previously committed to SWOSU in Weatherford.
He will join a QB room that’s undergone some turnover since the Pokes last took the field. Gone are Garret Rangel and Maealiauaki Smith, both to the transfer portal. Add in transfers Hauss Hejny (TCU) and Banks Bowen (Tulsa). The lone returner is redshirt freshman Zane Flores who missed 2024 due to injury.
Quarterback depth has been an issue for teams in this transfer portal era, but it hasn’t been much of an issue at Oklahoma State the past few seasons with the three-man rotation of 2023 and OSU keeping Rangel, Flores and Smith for Alan Bowman’s extra (extra?) year in 2024. The shoe was bound to drop at some point, but the Cowboys are easing that blow with these recent additions.
