Aziz Olajuwon, Son of Hakeem Olajuwon, Announces Oklahoma State Offer

The Cowboys are after a son of one of the all-time greats.

Aziz Olajuwon, the son of Hakeem Olajuwon, announced an Oklahoma State offer on Wednesday. Aziz is a 6-foot-7, 207-pound prospect in the 2026 class. 247Sports considers him the No. 95 player in the country and a top 10 player in the state of Texas.

OSU joins the likes of TCU, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and others that have offered Olajuwon.

Playing at Fort Bend Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas, Olajuwon averaged 19.9 points, nine rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks a game as a junior, according to MaxPreps.

He perhaps had his coming out party earlier this month at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, where he was the fourth-leading scorer at the event. He averaged 20.6 points and 5.4 rebounds a contest while leading his squad to a 5-0 record.

He plays his AAU ball with JL3 on Nike’s EYBL circuit. In 11 EYBL games this summer, Olajuwon averages 13.3 points and 4.6 rebounds a contest while shooting 45% from 3 on 60 attempts.

A Hall of Famer, Hakeem Olajuwon played 18 years in the NBA (17 of which came with the Houston Rockets). He was a two-time NBA champ, a two-time Finals MVP, an MVP, a 12-time All-NBA selection and a nine-time All-Defensive selection. In 1,238 career games, The Dream averaged 21.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks a game.

Steve Lutz and Co. are still in search of their first 2026 commitment, but it should be mentioned that only Iowa State and Baylor have 2026 commits among Big 12 schools to this point. This is usually about the time when basketball recruiting starts to pick up a bit with the AAU circuits in full swing.
