Ole Miss Transfer Catcher Campbell Smithwick Commits to Oklahoma State
OSU adds a catcher with SEC experience.
The Cowboys are adding a catcher with plenty of SEC experience.
Campbell Smithwick (an elite name) took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce his commitment to Oklahoma State. As a sophomore at Ole Miss last season, Smithwick hit .282 in 110 at-bats, finishing the year with five home runs and 23 RBIs. He also had a .410 on-base percentage.

Listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds, Smithwick played in 40 games as a sophomore, starting 27. The Rebels finished 43-21, hosting an NCAA Regional. Smithwick was named to the Oxford Regional’s All-Tournament team after hitting .277 with two RBIs and seven runs scored.
He spent his high school senior season at Oxford High School in Mississippi, where he was named the state’s Mr. Baseball and the Mississippi 6A Player of the Year. He spent his first three seasons of high school ball at Conway High School in South Carolina.
Smithwick appeared in 30 games as a freshman with the Rebels in 2024, making 24 starts. He hit .266 that season, drawing 21 walks and crossing the plate 13 times.
He’s played in the Cape Code Baseball League the past two summers. Playing with the Chatham Anglers in 2024, he hit .303 in 91 plate appearances, scoring 14 runs and recording 12 RBIs. In four games with the Bourne Braves this summer, he is hitting .308.
After a slow start to the year, the Cowboys made a late push to make the NCAA Tournament this past season. OSU made it to the Athens Regional final but fell 3-2 to Duke, ending the Pokes’ season at 30-25.
