OSU Hoops: Top 40 Prospect Billy White III Includes Oklahoma State in Top 10
White is 6-foot-8 and can shoot the 3.
The Cowboys made the shortlist for a top 40 prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.
Billy White III announced Tuesday afternoon that he is down to the following 10 schools:
Oklahoma State
Kansas
Oklahoma
TCU
Stanford
Maryland
LSU
Virginia
Texas A&M
SMU
Listed at 6-foot-8, White is the No. 33 player in 247Sports’ ranking for the 2026 cycle. ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals and On3 all list him as a four-star recruit.
Out of Veterans Memorial High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, White averaged 18.8 points a game as a junior, according to MaxPreps, to go along with 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 blocks. He went 119-for-253 (47%!!) from 3-point range at 6-foot-8.
He was also Veterans Memorial’s quarterback as a sophomore, throwing for 3,097 yards and 30 touchdowns to just six interceptions, per MaxPreps.
Playing with ASAK on Adidas’ 3SSB circuit this summer, White averaged 13.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game while shooting 36% from 3.
OSU offered White back in September. Among that group of 10, only TCU, LSU and Texas A&M offered before the Pokes.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, White has visits set up to six of his finalists. He’ll be in Stillwater on Sept. 28, the weekend of the Baylor football game. He’ll also visit Virginia (Aug. 28), SMU (Sept. 9), TCU (Oct. 4), LSU (Oct. 10) and Maryland (Oct. 18).
The Cowboys don’t have a player pledged in their 2026 class yet, but those are just starting to trickle in nationally, as only Iowa State and Baylor have commits among Big 12 schools at this point.
