Report: Oklahoma State Adds FCS Opponent Lindenwood to 2029 Schedule
This will be the first meeting between the Cowboys and the Lions.
The Cowboys will add a new opponent to their FCS slot.
Oklahoma State will host Lindenwood as part of the nonconference football slate in 2029, according to FBSSchedules.com. It will be the first time the two programs have met on the grid iron.
The Lions went 5-7 last season and 4-4 in conference. Lindenwood is part of the OVC-Big South Conference, having made the move up to Division I in 2023 from Division II. Prior to that, the Lions played in the NAIA. Lindenwood is located in Saint Charles, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
According to the contract obtained by FBSSchedules, OSU will host Lindenwood Saturday, Sept. 8, 2029 and will pay the institution $500,000 to make the trip to Stillwater.
Although a visit from an FCS school is not exactly sexy, this one might offer a nice reprieve for the Cowboys who will be in Tuscaloosa a week later for a road game against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept. 15. They open their season at home with a visit from frequent noncon opponent Tulsa on Sept. 1.
