Report: Cross Canadian Ragweed, Turnpike Troubadours to Return to Stillwater in April
Let’s run it back.
The Boys From Oklahoma set of shows was a massive success both in Stillwater and more recently down in Waco, and Cross Canadian Ragweed and Turnpike Troubadours are reportedly set to play in Stillwater again next year.
The Rolling Stone on Wednesday reported that the Boys From Oklahoma series will return to Boone Pickens Stadium on April 11. Stillwater native Wyatt Flores is also set to perform, as are Shane Smith and the Saints and The Great Divide.
The Stillwater set of shows was Ragweed’s first in 15 years. It was initially supposed to be a one-night ordeal, but quickly turned into a four-night event in Stillwater. That success then led to the “Texas Encore” performance in Baylor’s McLane Stadium, which was this past weekend.
The O’Colly had an article this week about how the Ragweed and Turnpike front men teased a return in 2026 at the end of that show in Waco.
“I guess we’ll see you guys in Stillwater next year, huh?” Turnpike’s Evan Felker said.
“Why don’t we just do a repeat performance? And we’ll see you guys in Stillwater in let’s say … April,” responded Cody Canada.
The concerts weren’t only a great time for those who went, but it also helped OSU’s athletic department a great deal in a world where everyone is trying to come up with new ways to keep money flowing in with all the changes in college athletics.
“At a time when finding new ways to generate revenue is important to all athletic departments, last year’s Boys From Oklahoma concerts were more successful than anyone imagined,” Chad Weiberg told The Rolling Stone. “Not only did it generate new revenue for OSU Athletics, but the shows had a significant economic impact on Stillwater and the region — and exposed thousands of people to OSU and the home of Red Dirt music for the first time. As soon as the shows ended, we were repeatedly asked if we would do them again.”
